This was by far the BEST breakfast I ever had, so I needed to share!

This summer, I visited Omelett in Brașov, and it truly filled all my senses. From the moment I walked in, I felt transported to a place where the worries of the world simply faded away. The atmosphere is a delightful blend of happiness, optimism, and relaxation, perfectly reflecting the café’s vision for an ideal world.

The inspiration drawn from the beauty of sunrise is evident in every detail. The warm yellows and oranges, complemented by earthy reds and the bluest of skies, create an inviting ambiance. I took the time and did some research about who designed this place. The architects, Sînziana and Pierre Bortnowski from TeamBuilt, have crafted a masterpiece, with each element of the café telling a story through its colors, textures, and lighting.

The fantastic tiles that make this cafe so iconic are a heritage design from Francesco de Maio, and they come from Amalfi, on the Mediterranean coast of Italy.

As stated on their lovely website, the building itself, dating back to 1910, adds a touch of historical charm. The painstaking restoration work, which uncovered the originally painted ceilings and exposed the brick arches in the basement, is nothing short of impressive. The care and dedication to preserving the building’s authenticity are palpable and deeply appreciated.

Our order:

I ordered “BREAKFAST AT TIFANNY’S” which included a classic boiled egg in a charming coquetier, accompanied by dried tomatoes, sophisticated butter, sweet Sicilian olives, cheese, artichoke, salad with cucumbers and dill, a toast, charcuterie style (460g).

My mom ordered “JEUX D’ENFANTS” which included an “egg en cocotte”, spinach with butter, wine & garlic, as well as Béchamel with a little bit of Dijon mustard, butter with wild garlic, and a toast (430g).

As for the drinks, we both ordered the “INDIAN SUMMER” Fresh (Lingonberries, oranges, grapefruits, turmeric, mango and raspberries).

The products used are locally sourced from farmers and small businesses, wherever possible Romanian.

Moreover, the menu showcases a multitude of delicious dishes, and each is a completely new story. And so, each meal is inspired by a movie.

Omelett is more than just a café; it’s a dream of revitalizing the old charm and authenticity of Brașov’s Old Town. I highly recommend visiting this gem if you pass by the Muresenilor street in Braşov, Romania ;))

Compliments to the chef and the rest of the crew, the service was fantastic!
