Creating bookmarks for friends, family, and myself has become one of my favorite small pastimes. It brings together several things I love: drawing, watercolor, and reading. I’ve always felt that bookmarks are often overlooked, easily replaced by store receipts or whatever flat object happens to be nearby (guilty of this), and yet they can be surprisingly personal. A well-chosen bookmark can make the reading experience feel more playful and cozy, which is precisely why I wanted to create a few of my own. Here are a few images of the bookmarks I’ve made over time:

Some of the illustrations were inspired by drawings that my friends or I came across on Pinterest or elsewhere online. I’d like to acknowledge and credit the original artists whenever possible. If you happen to recognize any of the drawings or know their creators, please feel free to let me know. I would be very grateful.
