Check Out How I Made These Adorable Plant Cups!
Pottery classes? Yes, please! My mom surprised me with a special treat to celebrate the end of the school year—she took me to Catherine’s pottery workshop, Studio Laroche.
It was an incredible experience. This was my first time using a real pottery wheel, unlike the tiny plastic one I got for my birthday when I was about 8. I still remember making little cups and painting them red and blue back then.
But this time, I got to work with real clay. Catherine was so patient with me, and I have to say, she’s an amazing teacher. I started with three clay balls, and although I ended up smashing them all in the process, I was really happy with how my first pottery attempt turned out. As you can see, the final cups look fantastic—and that’s what matters! The “landscape edges,” as Catherine called them, give my cups a modern, unique look. She was even kind enough to glaze and fire them in the kiln for me.
I hope you enjoyed watching my video and that it sparked your interest in ceramic decoration—I know it did for me!
If you ever visit Catherine at 172 rue Saint-Pierre, Rigaud or check out her social media @studiolaroche, be sure to tell her Irene says HI 🙂
